Jail breaker jailed 18 months
The Takoradi Magistrate Court on Monday sentenced Samuel Udoetuk Wills, an alleged suspect in connection with the three missing Takoradi girls to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour for unlawful escape from custody and unlawful destruction of property.
His jail term on unlawful escape from custody and unlawful destruction of property was to run concurrently, he was however acquitted on another charge of resisting arrest after he broke jail early this year.
Although speculations are rife linking the convict to the alleged kidnapping of the three girls, the Police are yet to charge him with the offence involving Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, a third year student of the University of Education, Winneba, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie,15 a student of the Sekondi College (SEKCO) and Ruth Love Quayson, 18, a Senior High School (SHS) graduate.
Concerned parents and well wishers thronged the premises of the Takoradi Magistrate Court as usual to express their sympathy for affected parents and to demand justice in bringing the accused to book.
The 18 months sentence pronounced by His Worship Thomas Ampadu, therefore came as a bit of a relief to the concerned parents and well wishers, as they believed it would pave way for the girls to be brought back to their parents.
