The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF), on Tuesday, launched the 9th Africa Armwrestling Championship dubbed “Accra 2018” in Accra. The championship, fixed for Thursday 26th – Sunday 29th July this year, would see Accra as the host city with over 15 other countries, participating. Ghana was awarded the rights to host in 2017 after beating Morocco to the bid. Mr Charles Osei Assibey, president of GAF, speaking at the launch said, it was a great opportunity for the country to host such an event. The Volta Region Executives of the Convention People Party (CPP) has called on the Central Committee of the party to commence preparations towards the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in order not to lose time.      To be able to wrest power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), the group is suggesting that the various functional committees of the party must start effective organization and mobilization at the grassroots immediately.      The call was contained in a resolution signed by six Regional Officers and 42 Constituency Officers at the end of a day’s meeting and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, on Tuesday.      The group called on “the national leadership and the Central Committee of the party to take immediate steps to resolve all differences in the party in order to bring about full reconciliation”.     The statement said the major cause of the woeful and sad performan...
